In the Bible

I recently decided I was going to complete a long overdue task. I am reading the Bible the whole way through, cover to cover.

I have probably read almost everything through studies and at other times when I tried embarking on the same task. But I am constantly shocked at what I take for granted as being Biblical, when in fact it is an interpretation created to fit an agenda.

I’m starting from scratch as if I know nothing and seeing what I find. I have been itching to write a book involving the Bible and the current political climate, but felt I had no right to do such without taking into consideration all the Bible had to say about the matters at hand — and not relying on what other people tell me it has to say.

So I’m diving in and working out ideas through this blog. I hope you’ll join me for the ride and gently put me in check if I’m interpreting something incorrectly. Check out what I learn by following the links below.

I’m terribly interested in apologetics and historical accuracy and context, so those with links and details pertaining to the topics at hand are highly encouraged to share.

Genesis
Exodus
Leviticus
Numbers

  1. I applaud your journey. I read the Bible through for the first time when I was in high school and have made it an annual commitment for the past 15 years. Some times it takes me a little longer than a year because I may linger over a particular passage and take longer in a particular book. It is an amazing book and I hope you enjoy the journey.

  4. Hello Dana,
It’s Becky from the ole Meadows house ladies. I just checked out your blog for the first time. Definitely some rich topics. I wanted to recommend a book I read last year called “Jesus for President.” I know you’ll really enjoy this, especially it’s artistic incorporation.
    Take care lady,
    Becky
